Well known, high end luxury line looking for an intern to start Monday June 22, 2009 in the PR and marketing department.

As our Assistant Apparel Designer for Basketball, you’ll be expected to bring the same passion for performance, innovation and talent that you love about adidas when performing the tasks below.

Purpose:
To assist design leadership in specific category through knowledge and exceptional design skill.

Key Accountabilities:
§ Collects relevant information needed to create a truly inspired sports- collection. This includes all possible sources.
§ Stays current with trends and information that affect the respective category.
§ Travels the market and produces trend, travel and research reports.
§ Designs collections (this includes hand sketches, illustrations, technical drawings, color concepts and colored sketches, mood/ inspiration boards, graphic solutions…)
§ Creates design and product concepts for defined projects in collaboration with other designers that are dedicated to the projects.
§ Hands over design kits to development. Communicates all relevant information needed for the development process.
§ Assists collaboration with Product Management on defined projects.
§ Ensures an efficient process and communication flow between all parties involved in all projects.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
§ Knowledge of functional sportswear products.
§ Mac skills using Illustrator and PhotoShop applications.
§ Ability to communicate effectively to all levels within the organization.
§ Knowledge of design trends, specifically sporting good industry trends.
§ Ability to effectively present design ideas and concepts to large groups.

Qualifications:
§ Bachelor’s Degree (BA) IN Fashion Design/ Industrial Design
§ One (1) years of experience in design; or
§ Equivalent combination of both education and experience.
